why do we celebrate Columbus Day,
It is our duty to tell them the truth:
He was an evil mother fucker,
and now he's dead.
Let us remember him
For the murderer and rapist that he was
so when others like him pop up
we will celebrate their deaths too.
As we strive
to only make mistakes once.

There are a few days of mourning that dot the Fall landscape. Among these are Columbus Day and Thanksgiving. Let us not celebrate the death of Columbus until the full measure of the man replaces the myth that governs our understanding of him.
